** Advocacy Alert ** Call or Email Your Senators Today to Ask Them to Support the Brown-Hutchison Clinical Trials Amendment By ensuring that the clinical trials amendment is incorporated in the Senate bill this month, we can ensure brain tumor patients access to the widest range of treatment options and ensure progress in clinical research. What to Do Groundbreaking Clinical Trial at UCSF Funded by NBTS Together with other public and private funders, NBTS is supporting a collaborative clinical trial for the brain tumor SPORE (Specialized Program of Research Excellence). The trial will test the effectiveness of vaccine HSPCC-96 which has shown success in other tumor types and promises to be effective against Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM). "It represents the opportunity to use the patient's own immune system to provoke a response and target the cancer cells," said Dr. Andrew Parsa.
