 National brain tumor awareness movement launches
Just in time for Brain Tumor Awareness Month, the GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME Brain Tumor Awareness Movement, an initiative of the National Brain Tumor Society, made its national debut at the Fourth Annual GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME Brain Tumor Awareness Walk on Saturday, April 30. The Movement features brain tumor survivors as spokespeople, and is designed to help both the general public and medical professionals learn the facts about brain tumors and take action in the fight against the disease.  A successful Brain Tumor Action Week
Andrea of Idaho said it best: "Reducing funding for medical research on brain tumors is not acceptable." And she said it to her U.S. Senator. Andrea and many other dedicated members of the brain tumor community took this message to Capitol Hill on Tuesday, May 3, as part of Brain Tumor Action Week. Although Congress was facing many issues coming back from Easter recess, brain tumor patients and caregivers told Congress that it should not retreat on medical research funding. Read more. |
