Dear Friend,

As you know, a key policy priority for the brain tumor community is the continued funding of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the largest funder of brain tumor research in the country. As Congress works to develop the fiscal year 2013 budget, we must ensure that NIH funding is protected. This year is an especially up-hill battle for funding because of the historic pressure to cut federal spending across the board, even on research that could lead to life-saving therapies.

Last month, 49 Senators and 153 Representatives advocated in support of NIH by sending a letter to the Chairs and Ranking Members of the Appropriations committees and the Labor Health and Human Services subcommittees in both the House and the Senate asking for a strong commitment to NIH funding as the committees develop their appropriations bills.

Please join us in thanking these supportive Members of Congress by sending a letter to their offices. It just takes one minute to show your appreciation for their support. And if you have one minute more, personalize your letter with a few sentences about why this issue matters so much to you.

We will keep you updated as the budget process moves forward. Thank you for your continued advocacy.
