New Meningioma Research Fund to Accelerate Treatments for Most Common Brain Tumor Type

Announced earlier this week, the National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS) and the Brain Science Foundation (BSF) have partnered to establish the Meningioma Research Fund. In support of our shared mission to conquer and cure brain tumors, the goal is to raise and grant new funds specifically for meningioma brain tumor research that will accelerate treatments.

Meningioma, the most common primary brain tumor, accounts for 37 percent of all brain tumor diagnoses and approximately 30,000 new cases every year in the United States.

NBTS recently detailed a new study published in Nature Medicine and funded in part by the Defeat GBM Research Collaborative which found that a simple change in timing for administering checkpoint inhibitors could improve immunotherapy's potential to successfully treat recurrent glioblastoma patients.
