Join Us This September for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

September is observed annually as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (CCAM) in the United States, a time to recognize and honor children that have been affected by cancer and the families that care for them, while highlighting the critical need to support research that can lead to safer and more effective treatments for our most vulnerable patients. As brain tumors are the leading cause of cancer-related mortality in children, as well as the most commonly diagnosed cancer in children 14-years-old and younger, the brain tumor community has an enormous stake in Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

This September, submit a September Superstar, join us at a signature or community event, get social with us by sharing pediatric brain tumor stories using #CCAM, or make a gift today to support critical research with the potential to advance new treatments and change the future for children facing brain tumors.

Give today for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Fundraising Gets Personal for Two-Time Meningioma Survivor

After twice receiving treatment for meningioma brain tumors, Sharon Mottola has dedicated her time, family, and friends to raise funds to support NBTS's overall mission delivery programs in research and public policy advocacy. This past year, Sharon’s fundraising took on extra special meaning with the introduction of the NBTS-Brain Science Foundation Meningioma Research Fund.

"I thought it was amazing!" says Sharon. "The fact that I could go ahead and allocate my team's fundraising to what I suffer with, and am suffering with, to me was just very special to know that I could allocate the funds specifically for my cause…and I was just super thankful that this fund was created and we could do that."
