TAKE ACTION

Become an Advocate for Children

Icon of two hands shaking and creating a heart.

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, become an advocate with National Brain Tumor Society to influence public policy decisions that impact the lives of brain tumor patients: ensure funding to continue groundbreaking research on pediatric and adult brain tumors; expand financial support for caregivers, and urge Congress to pass legislation such as the Gabriella Miller Kids First Research Act that will bring us closer to better treatments and a cure. Your voice matters, and together with others from across the country you can make a difference.

RESEARCH UPDATE

New Research on Brain Tumor Statistics

Icon of a microscope.

A new report from the Central Brain Tumor Registry of the United States (CBTRUS) and the American Cancer Society – and funded in part by NBTS – found that while overall incidence rates of malignant brain tumors declined slightly (0.8% annually) from 2008 through 2017 in the U.S., five-year survival rates remain unacceptably low. This data continues to underscore the urgency with which we must work to realize more treatments, longer survival, and a better quality of life for those diagnosed with brain tumors.
