About Us
Children’s National Medical Center has provided hope to sick children and their families regionally, nationally, and internationally, for 140 years. Last year alone Children’s National treated more than 370,000 children. The Brain Tumor Institute at Children’s National seeks to care for and cure children diagnosed with brain tumors, and many of the pediatric brain tumor therapies used around the world today were pioneered by Children’s National.
National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS) is the largest nonprofit organization dedicated to the brain tumor community in the United States. We are fiercely committed to finding better treatments, and ultimately a cure, for people living with a brain tumor today and those who will be diagnosed tomorrow. Our current pediatric initiative is focused on developmental neurobiology to better understand the effect of today's brain tumor treatments on a child's brain. NBTS also supports the work of Dr. Joseph Scafidi of Children's National Medical.
