Brain Tumor Ride History
In 1995, approximately 50 people, led by the Corkin family, united in Boston's western suburbs for the Inaugural Ride for Research. That dedicated group raised $30,000 for the Brain Tumor Society and, 15 years later, both the event and the organization have grown exponentially. In 2008, the Brain Tumor Society became the National Brain Tumor Society and the Ride had its most successful year to date. In the last two years alone, the Ride has raised more than $1 million to support the programs of NBTS. In 2010, the name changed to the Brain Tumor Ride and the Ride program grew to include the Silicon Valley Brain Tumor Ride in California.
This year marks the 19th anniversary of bringing people together to take action against brain tumors. We hope that you will join us on May 19, 2013 when we unite to fight brain tumors!
