Thanks to all walkers, volunteers and donors for inspiring hope, taking action and uniting to fight brain tumors! Special thanks to Event Chair Nicole Smith and Oregon Lead Advocate Sara Shah for their extraordinary leadership and commitment.
National Brain Tumor Society is happy to welcome Sara Shah as our new Oregon Lead Advocate! After attending Head to the Hill 2013, our annual DC-based advocacy day, Sara signed up to be the lead advocacy recruiter, mobilizer, and spokesperson for the state of Oregon.
Welcome to the Portland Brain Tumor Walk, a family-friendly walk and community day benefiting the National Brain Tumor Society!
In 2012, more than 1,300 people participated in this event and raised nearly $170,000 to support the fight against brain tumors.
Funds raised through this event help the National Brain Tumor Society to drive strategic research initiatives aimed at finding new therapies as quickly as possible, and empower the brain tumor community to advocate for vital government programs and policies that will result in better treatments and quality of life for those affected by brain tumors.
