Registration FAQs

Why do I need to log in before I register?
If you were sent a user name and password in an email from us, or if you have previously participated in an event, you are recognized by the online registration system as an existing user account. It is very important that you log in prior to registering to ensure for an easy registration process. The system remembers your contact information and automatically fills out most of the registration form for you. In addition, if you have participated previously, your Participant Center address book and any updates you have made to your personal page will also remain intact.

In some cases, you may not know that you have a user account. If you do have a user account and attempt to register without logging in, you may receive a system error. You can have your user name and password emailed to you if you do not remember them. You will be able to update or change them once you have registered for the event.

What is the cost to register? What do registration fees include? Am I required to fundraise a minimum amount?
The pre-registration fee for Adults is $25 and the registration fee on the day of the event is $35. Youth registration is $10 (ages 6-17) regardless of when they register. Registration fees include an event T-shirt (for pre-registered participants only), food, beverages, and full access to activities.

In addition to registration fees, adults are encouraged to fundraise $500. Registration fees are applied to your fundraising total.

Why should I pre-register online?
When you pre-register online, you will gain access to an array of fundraising tools through your own personal Participant Center. Pre-registering also allows you extra time to fundraise and spread awareness about brain tumors. You pay a lower registration fee and T-shirts will only be provided to those who pre-register to attend the event.

If you would prefer to register by mail, please complete and return this downloadable registration form.

Do I need to register my children?
Children ages 6-17 are required to register and pay a fee of $10. Children ages 5 and under do not need to register for this event. Please note that only registered participants will receive an event T-shirt. If your child is 5 or younger and would like a T-shirt, please register them at the youth rate.

Is there a team registration fee?
There is no fee for setting up a team. Individual participants must pay the registration fee regardless of whether they are participating on a team.

Can I participate and volunteer?
Yes. If you plan to Walk and Volunteer, register (pay the fee), then email your contact information to BayAreaWalk@braintumor.org. Subject: Walker wants to volunteer.

Note that volunteers are not considered registered Walkers. In order to
participate in the Walk you must register as a Walker.

When I register for the first time, should I use my home or work address?
Participants should register using their home address. It eliminates confusion at check-in on event day. It also reduces the chance of duplicate mailings.

If someone registers as an individual, can they still join a team later?
Pre-registered individual participants can still become part of a team. Please e-mail us with the name of the team you would like to join or form and we will make the necessary adjustments for you.

I plan to Walk in order to support one of my friends and their team. Do I still have to register?
Everyone attending the event must register even if they are not planning to participate in the event. Participants and attendees are welcome to remain in the picnic area at any time.

If you still have questions or if we can help further, please email us at BayAreaWalk@braintumor.org.
