National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS) is proud to carry on the Tulips Against Tumors tradition. The Kelly Heinz-Grundner Brain Tumor Foundation (KHG) started Tulips Against Tumors in 2005 and it continues to grow in size and scope each year. Last year NBTS opened an online “garden” to make these beautiful blooms available to tulip lovers across the country. Last year, people from 26 states placed orders, and we hope that Tulips Against Tumors will bloom in all 50 states this year!

No matter where people who support Tumors Against Tumors reside, everyone can unite with the brain tumor community by planting their tulips on National Planting Day. We encourage you to plant your tulips at 1 p.m. on October 29 along with people across the country to show your support for the fight against brain tumors.

Brain Tumor Awareness

Brain tumors do not discriminate. Every year, an estimated 63,000 people are diagnosed with a primary brain tumor in the United States. What's more, over 600,000 people are currently living with a primary brain tumor. Despite these staggering facts, the disease still does not receive much attention from the media, the general public and, sadly, many front-line medical professionals.

Tulips Against Tumors and the National Brain Tumor Society seek to change this dynamic by bringing brain tumors to the forefront of people's minds. The bottom line is there simply are not enough people supporting this cause right now. The more people who know the facts about brain tumors and take action to support the fight against brain tumors, the more the entire brain tumor community will benefit.
