Support My Fight Against Brain Tumors
Brain Tumor Walk - Dallas-Ft. Worth
Again this year, I will participate in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Brain Tumor Walk (Saturday, November 5, 2011). Brain cancer touched my life two years ago, striking someone I love - Lindy Bullock. I'm walking because I can. I'm walking because I'm healthy. I'm walking because I want to support a cancer that has a low incidence rate and low long-term survival rate as well. I'm walking for "Team Lindy Lou" to help with the fundraising effort. Please consider making a donation on my behalf, and help me blow my personal goal out of the water! As important, please pray for a miraculous healing even as Lindy leans on the medical community for their help and treatment!
Lindy is doing well, her tumor is stable and unchanged. Not everything is unchanged in her life, however! She married long-time love, Mike, last August in Italy, no less! LIfe is good, but this is a life-long battle for her.
While the shock of Lindy's diagnosis has deminished, the need for support has not! Without the money for research and cutting-edge treatment, those battling brain turmors will continue to have their lives cut short. Please consider a generous donation!
(So you know, Team Lindy Lou was top fundraiser last year. We want a repeat! Although there are over 100 different types of brain tumors, there are only about 18,000 people diagnosed in the U.S. each year, which is less than 2% of all cancer cases. That makes brain tumors relatively rare, but unfortunately they are disproportionately lethal, with 13,000 deaths per year. Raising funds for treatment and drugs is not a high priority since this is a relatively "low profile" cancer compared to breast cancer, leukemia, et. I need your help to raise funds and awareness! The links are provided below.)
Thank you and blessings!
NBTS is fiercely committed to finding a cure for brain tumors. NBTS aggressively drives strategic research; advocates for public policies that meet the critical needs of the brain tumor community; and provides comprehensive patient, family, and caregiver resources.
Your support ensures this important work will continue.
