2nd Annual Nick Gonzales Charity Golf Tournament
Nicklas Alan Gonzales loved and treasured his large family throughout his life and was blessed with many friends over the years. Graduating from UT in Austin with a degree in aerospace engineering, he looked forward to a long career in the field that had fascinated him since childhood. He and Anne married in 2001 and were blessed with 2 little, healthy, energetic boys over the next 3 years. Nick was just 28 when he was diagnosed with a stage IV GBM. He underwent emergency surgery at UT Southwestern in Dallas, followed by radiation and chemo. Ten months later the tumor returned and though Nick entered a clinical trial, nothing would stop the tumor. The Nick Gonzales Foundation was established in honor of Nick as a 501c3 public charity. The Foundation's mission is to increase awareness and funding for research and established a research grant in Nick's honor with the National Brain Tumor Society. We funded the 2008 grant with $50,000 and are on track to do the same in 2009.
We have a golf tournament in the Dallas area on May 8th, 2009. You may visit http://www.nickgonzalesfoundation.org for details.
