Please come join us Sunday, May 5th down on Freedom Plaza for the Race for Hope 5k Run/Walk! We are raising money to help kick brain cancer in the butt! If you can't, please feel free to make a donation!! You can even be a virtual runner! The views are amazing!!!
Our team is one of the only teams representing/honoring five brain tumor survivors at this time. Unfortunately, it has only been three, myself, Erin, Celia Hanson, and R. Tucker Mostrom in previous years. Unfortunatley, in this past year alone, two of our dear friends, Linda Rollins and Kristin Andre have both been diagnosed with aggressive forms of brain tumors and are currently undergoing treatment. Linda is battling a glioblastoma multiform (Grade 4) glial tumor and Kristin Andre has a rare pNet tumor and hopefully both will be able to attend the race if their treatment goes well. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families at this time. Please feel free to email me with any questions at this time as it is still a little early. My email is emhabeman@comcast.net. Celia Hanson is my co-captain and I will provide her information shortly. We ask that all team members try to raise a minimum of $200 each as this IS a fundraiser. We will have new t-shirts this year and will be doing some fundraisers. Please look for more information to come. If you join, please take advantage of all the tools this website has to offer!
The Race for Hope - DC presented by Cassidy Turley raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and provide information for brain tumor patients and their families. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors. Thank you for your support in helping us find a cure for brain tumors!
