2013 Race for Hope - DC

TRBC for TRBC- T(taking) R(revenge) on B(brain) C(cancer) for T(Tommy) R(Rudy) B(Buddy) C(Curtiss)

The Race for Hope - DC presented by Cassidy Turley raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and provide information for brain tumor patients and their families. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors. Thank you for your support in helping us find a cure for brain cancer.

Everyday we miss our daddies!! Four daughters from across the country, who have been brought together through our unfortunate circumstances, and become close friends with a mission. Our mission is to take revenge against the beast GBM or glioblastoma multiforme, that robbed us of our first loves, our heroes, our daddies! Each of us has our own unique stories about our dad's and our own unique battles with the beast GBM, but the stories all end the same. Our dads would ultimately leave this earth for their place in heaven. None of us could ever imagine our dads parting this world so soon. They were such strong men, having worked their whole lives to take care of their families, serving their country, and they each loved their wives, children, and grandkids, with a passion that can never be replaced. Our hearts are empty for them, and the kind of love a father gives, but our spirits will not be broken by this beast!! For what was once their battle, has now become their daughters battle, and we won't give up fighting for revenge against this brutal cancer, that is considered rare, yet has become more and more common. Brain cancer is one of the most underfunded cancers, in way of research, and clinical trial funding. It doesn't receive near the attention it deserves, unlike other cancers that offer hope of survival. To date, there is no hope for a cure for GBM. Little strides have been made towards effective research for treatment and potential cures. It is a very brutal cancer, with the average life span from diagnosis for most being less than one year. This is just completely unacceptable and something has to change, so that no other daughters have to lose their dads far before their time. This cancer isn't age discriminatory either. It can strike at any age, even infants.

Please consider donating to our team as we all come together face to face for the first time, though we feel like we have known each other for years, and participate together as one team TRBC for TRBC, Taking Revenge on Brain Cancer for Tommy, Rudy, Buddy, and Curtiss. No donation is too small, and all monies are so greatly appreciated, as we strive towards our goal of raising more awareness, and finding a cure. We will never ever give up hope!!
