Team SuperPowers! was launched into super-powerful space in 2004 when their loving brood-mama Mimi (aka Mary Ann) Powers was surviving a glioblastoma brain tumor with incredible courage and positivity. Mary Ann flew with that shining light to the other side in November of 2006 and we have continued to do the race in her honor and in hopes of easing recovery for those still powerfully & yet gently living with brain cancer. Unfathomably, Mimi's son, Thomas (the third born of six), was diagnosed with an astrocytoma in 2008 & had surgery to resect the tumor. We are praying for and sending love to Thomas and family and all people who are suffering with and surviving such difficulties.
