Kurt Schillinger: Team Bunny
I am riding in the Boston Brain Tumor Ride to support the fight against brain tumors. I am asking you help me by making a donation to my team, Team Bunny!
I have been riding in the BT Ride for the past 6 years. My grandmother, Bunny Hannaway, was diagnosed with a brain tumor right before I was born. She fought it for 2 years and gave it her best. I am glad she got to meet me when I was a small baby. She was a great person and I am told by all the stories my parents and family tell me that she did everything for everyone. She was a great artist, we have lots of her paintings hanging in our house. She was also funny and loved to dress up on Halloween. I wish that I could remember meeting her, I love all the pictures and stories about her.
Every year for the past 13 years my family has been riding in the Brain Tumor Ride to help raise money to find a cure. The medicine is much better for people now than they were when my grandmother had a tumor. I think its important to keep riding in her name to help other families who are battling this bad disease.
I hope that by riding in the Brain Tumor Ride I can help raise money that will make a difference . The money that we raise helps to find better cures and hopefully one day find a way to cure brain tumors.
There are 700,000 people in the US living with a brain tumor. This year 210,000 more will be diagnosed. I will ride for all of these people, their families and friends who have brain tumors.
