Race For Hope - DC
The Race for Hope - DC raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and support services for brain tumor patients and their families. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors. Proceeds benefit the National Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure. Thank you for your support in helping us find a cure for brain tumors!
The Kinberg Family
It is with your support that we will find better and more successful treatments and ultimately a cure for Brain Cancer. Our efforts are in memory of Robert - our superhero - and honor of the amazing families who are fighting or have fought this fight.
I recognize that each year the Race For Hope has had a different meaning & significance and this year I have to find a focus.
It will be a time to remember that Robert was a wonderful person (husband, father, son, brother, friend, etc.). A day to celebrate his life and to remember the personal characteristics that made him the remarkable person - our remarkable Robert. A time to remember the good times and the fun that we had. A time to give thanks for the honor of having his love. A time to remember 'him'. It will also be a time to remember and reflect on all of the people who surround us and support us - still. There is power in the people - and we are forever grateful.
It will be a day to remember his positive & stoic attitude through his brutal battle with Brain Cancer and Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. It will be a time to remember and celebrate his unwavering belief that we would all be okay - no matter what. A time to recognize the trust that he held in all of us to take care of each other and go on living in spite of the enormous grief of not having him with us. A time to realize that his brave heart gave us all strength to fight with him and continues to give us strength to fight through the deep sadness that we face on a daily basis. A time to remember that no matter how much time has past, what memeories fade, and no matter where we are in our grief and/or hapiness, Robert lives in our hearts and in our memories. As our wise son stated just last week, "Daddy can never die in my heart." Wisdom from our children!
