Hello all,

Welcome to my personal Race for Hope fundraising page. This is my 5th year participating in the Race for Hope-DC in memory of my father, Charlie Newton who passed away on October 28, 1993 after a 10 month battle with brain cancer, and in memory of a friend, father, and loving husband, Mike Giannini , and family member Clayton Bryant who also lost their battle to brain cancer.   Their lives were cut short however their memories live on through so many of us each day.

Every year I look forward to the walk and the feeling of "hope" that one day they will find a cure for brain cancer. I cannot explain the emotions and memories that go through my head each year as I participate. I see the signs and writing on everyone's  shirts that say "In loving memory or support of my dad, mom, husband, wife, daughter, son, niece or nephew not to mention of all ages. Each year I pray for a cure as I'm standing along the street watching and cheering during the tribute to all the survivors as they pass by fighting the tears back. It is one emotional day that brings back many good memories but also the memories of what it was like to see a family member battle this disease. It gives me more determination to help make a difference and raise money for this cause knowing one day they WILL have a cure.

The Race for Hope -DC helps to raise money for brain cancer research and support services for those battling brain cancer. This is so important to me in so many ways. Your support not only helps find a cure but it helps keep my daddy alive in my heart.

Please join us in the fight by donating and/or joining our team  "Charlie's Angels". All donations are truly appreciated!

Thank you,

Shannon Erdman
