According to the American Brain Tumor Association, an expected 69,720 new brain tumor diagnoses are expected to occur in 2013, adding to the growing number of 688,096 people who are living with the diagnosis of a brain or central nervous system tumor (2010 estimate). The diagnosis and treatment of a brain tumor is undoubtedly an overwhelming physical, emotional, and financial burden for the patient and his/her family.
As a neurobiology researcher, I have the incredible opportunity to meet brain tumor patients and work towards our goal of elucidating possible treatment options. I'm continually inspired by their strength and perseverance, and thus took upon the task of creating this team. Please help me raise funds for this extremely important cause!
