Dear Friends and family

Once again I am joining team "Erin and Her Brain Tumor Buddies" making this my TENTH  year!!!!   Erin who originally formed this team as "Erin's Hope"  is a dear friend of mine who was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor twelve years ago. Each day is a triumph and a challenge for Erin as she fights to stay healthy and hope for a cure. Erin has always amazed me with her positive attitude and her willingness to get involved to help raise money for brain tumor research with the hope that others wont have to suffer with this nasty disease.

As many of you know when I first participated in this race I  didn't know that I  myself had a brain tumor.  After suffering with frequent migraines and at Erin's urging, I went to a neurologist and had a CT scan and an MRI.  I was then diagnosed with a meningioma in the right frontal lobe.  Making Erin and I who were already friends "brain tumor buddies".  Although I have been told that my migraines are not related to the meningioma it was because of the migrianes that I found that I had a meningioma.

I still  consider myself very lucky because my tumor is in " a good place" and has not grown.  My treatment for now, is MRI's every other year to make sure no changes occur .   Helping others with brain tumors has become very important to me and I feel so fortunate to be able to particiapte in the Race For Hope.

Wont you please consider making a small donation or joining our team  - "Erin and her Brain Tumor Buddies"   We are a truly unique team with four survivors!  Tucker, a dear friend  is our third survivor will be sporting  a yellow tutu on the race day!  A sight you surely don't want to miss!   Cancer is no fun and we all need to do whatever we can to beat it!

xxoo   Celia
