Welcome to My Personal Page
Hi my name is Brian Wathen and here is my story. While at school on December 17, 2008 I began feeling sick and went to the nurse's office. Within 18 hours I was at Children's National Medical Center with a brain tumor. I had surgery on December 22, 2008 and I had a complete resection of the tumor but it was Medullublastoma, an aggressive cancer.
After getting opinions from St. Jude's and Boston Children's Hospital, my parents decided to have me treated at Children's National Medical for chemo and Fairfax for radiation. I began treatment January 15, 2009 and finish treatment March of 2010. I was given a 80% recovery rate from this disease. Thanks to the support of my family and friends and all the prayers I'm here today, a surviver.
