David Cook's Team for a Cure team page

This will be my fifth year participating in the Race for Hope - DC to raise funds and awareness to find a cure for brain tumors, and I'd like to invite you to donate to help me reach my fundraising goal of $600 by May 4, 2014.  Please give from your heart - every little bit helps, even $5.

It's not easy for me to ask people for money, but this is a cause I truly believe in and support.  From the first year I participated, I was completely overwhelmed and uplifted by the wonderful, enthusiastic people who are involved with this cause.  It's hard to describe in words how my heart feels when I see the brain cancer survivors in their bright yellow shirts walking and running the 5K, lovingly supported by family and friends ... proving that treatments work, survival and cures are possible, but we need so much more research funding to make sure that everyone struck by brain tumors has a chance at a cure.

I went the first year because it was brought to my attention by musician David Cook, whose brother Adam lost his battle with brain cancer. But I keep coming back because I care, because of the wonderful people involved, and because I believe a cure is within our reach.

Thank you so much for your support!

Love,

Debra Hernandez
