Welcome to My Personal Page
On May 16th 2009, my friend Todd Miller lost his 17 month battle with brain cancer. Todd was an amazing husband, father, brother, son, and friend. He was also healthy and athletic so participating in this race is a small way that I can honor his memory. Most of you know that it takes a lot to motivate me to get off my butt and exercise.
Some of you may not know that my cousin's son, Easton Wargo also battled brain cancer at the tender age of 18 months. Easton's care at St Jude Children's Research Hospital helped cure him of this terrible desease and he is now a happy, healthy 11 year old!
Three years ago I added another connection to this awful cancer, 9yr old Austin Stitzer. Austin was a 3rd grader who I had provided Early Intervetion sevices to when he was just 2 yrs old. He lost his 9 month battle with a brain tumor in September. Recently his classmates honored him...http://www.centredaily.com/2012/04/28/3178335/memories-take-root.html#storylink=misearch.
I'm willing to do something that I'm not very good at, running, so that someday there is a cure for brain cancer! Money funds research. Research leads to new treatments. New treatments lead to CURES!
Please help me honor Todd, Easton and Austin. It would be a great day when there is no more brain cancer.
The Race for Hope - DC presented by Cassidy Turley raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and support services for brain tumor patients and their families. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors. Thank you for your support in helping us find a cure for brain tumors!
