Race For Hope - DC
In 1977, over three decades ago, I suffered debilitating headaches and double vision. I was diagnosed with a cystic tumor that impeded the flow of my cerebral spinal fluid. I was blessed to live here in the DC Metro area, a stone's throw from the Childrens Hostital NMC. Dr. Kathryn Hammock, a very talented neurosurgeon, removed my tumor in one fell swoop.
I am blessed to be able to reflect back on how lucky I was 34 years ago. My friends on the Erin's Hope team who still fight their tumors inspire me with their strength and grace.
I would really appreciate any contribution you can spare toward the 2012 Race for Hope. Having contributed myself, I can tell you that it will be much easier than my lugging my bones around the course on race day, May 6th. One of my close colleagues at work had his wife hook me up with a "gorgeous" tutu in yellow & white for the race. I wouldn't miss it for the world.
