Welcome to My Personal Page
13 Years ago this August, I lost my Dad, and my Fav. Uncle Bill (my dad's brother) 10 days apart, both to cancer. My dad of skin cancer,(melanoma) and my uncle of lung cancer. Not having the funds as a family for around the clock care, I became the 24-7 care-giver for my Dad. I quickly learned how to be a nurse. As challenging as this time was, it made me stronger. I support any cancer research for a cure! This community of David Cook's fans, and team for a Cure really helped me through during a rough time, and have become great friends, some best friends, regardless of ages and backgrounds, we found commonality here. This is my home, and this environment: music, charity, and community captures my true spirit. Race for Hope DC has become one of my fav weekends of the year!
I run for my Dad and Uncle Bill! They were great men the world misses. They inspire my work, and inspire me daily to carpe diem! I also run for all the friends we have lost too soon to cancer, and for those still fighting. I'm so blessed we WILL be seeing "anotherleftydc" my dear friend Diane this year! Cancer free for the 2nd time! "Never knowing that the best we ever had is in the here and now." -DC, This year I run for Laura Odom battling stage 4 breast cancer, never give up!
Prevention is key.
My dad was the top individual money raiser for March of Dimes Baltimore, so we can def carry on his spirit of generosity.
Thank you so much for your donation, it means alot to me, and it will come back to you. (You can donate anonymously as well.) I'm so proud to be a part of David Cook's Team for a Cure as we go for our 9th year in a row as the top fundraising team!
