Welcome to My Personal Page
I am a father of a wonderful 8-year-old son and an amazing wife who has been struggling with brain and spinal cord cancer for several years. Although diagnosed as a grade I tumor and predicted to be something that would be managed for a long life, the only consistency has been in the unexpected changes we've encountered. This "low grade" tumor unexpectantly disseminated and therefore there is nothing to 'cut out'. It is here to stay and has taken my wife's ability to walk, impacted her cognitive abilities, and robbed the world of a funny vibrant caring person who made a difference in every life she touched - she now touches and inspires us in other ways.
Are the struggles due to the tumor? The radiation therapy? No one really knows and why we need to support brain cancer research. While corporate profits are at an all time high NIH and research funding in general are disappearing and so Team Roman is asking for your help once again to raise awareness and money for brain cancer research.
This time we (Laura, Joseph and I) are heading to Washington DC on May 5th to join Laura's sister Amy as she participates in the Race For HOPE each year in Laura's name. Each day is a struggle for our family but we still try to remember "Life Is Good".
The Race for Hope - DC presented by Cassidy Turley raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and provide information for brain tumor patients and their families. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors.
Thank you for your support in helping us find a cure for brain tumors!
