My brother David was diagnosed with a brain tumor in November 2009. He was 42 years old, a husband to Tracey and the father of Collin who was 2 1/2 years old at the time. Throughout his 2 1/2 year battle he dealt with chemotherapy, radiation, clinical trials, vision problems, weakness and lack of control of his left arm and leg, multiple blood clots, nose bleeds and more. Even going through all of this, David never lost his sarcasm, quick wit or sense of humor. He stayed positive and continually talked about the future. I truly believe that his attitude and positive outlook helped us to have the 2 1/2 years that we had with him.

David's battle ended on June 6, 2012. He left behind a wonderful wife of almost eight years, a most precious 5 year old son (who is like David in so many ways), two loving parents, his "two sisters", a family of amazing in-laws, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. My hope now is that we can raise money to help find a cure for this disease so that other families don't have to go through this nightmare.

Even though it has been almost two years, I miss David and think about him every day.  I still cry when certain memories pop into my head or when I hear certain songs.  I hate the fact that he can't be with Tracey and Collin every day or to see what an amazing kid Collin is.  I know that on race day he and our brother Jimmy will be watching over me and our family and friends while we conquer this 5K in his memory. Please help in our effort to raise money to cure brain tumors. Every dollar will help!

Thank you for your generous contribution.

Love, Susan
