Thank you for visiting my page! I was diagnosed 4 years ago with a Grade 2 Ependymoma in my posterior fossa (that's the back of your head near your brain stem, for those of you that don't speak neurosurgery). After an amazing surgery at Georgetown and 6 weeks of radiation at Duke, we thought I was doing great! Raising money to help cure brain tumors has been a passion since then, and through my business connections via PwcMoms.com, I've raised nearly $18,000 towards finding hope for others.
Unfortunately, just before my fundraiser this year, we found out that my Ependymoma was back- this time in my spine. This makes me even more determined to help fund research towards better drugs, better options, better everything.
This tumor messed with the wrong chick.
I'll be in week 5 of 6 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy at Duke for this year's race, but I'll be there walking. Please join me by walking/running/donating towards this cause. Science is making advances every day, and I think that with faith and great doctors on my side- I have great reasons for hope, and I want others to have that, too.
I am uniting with others to make a difference in the fight against brain tumors. I am passionate about this cause, so I’m taking action and need your help. National Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure are making strides for a cure - but more needs to be done. Please join in my effort!
