Welcome! Be reMARKable!
My reMARKable brother, Mark Furst, has been the epitome of health and fitness all of his life, enjoying a vigorous spinning class nearly every day, eating right, and maintaining his flexibility. How many other 64-year-olds can still do a split?!! You can imagine how dumbstruck we were to learn that he had been diagnosed with inoperable, stage 4 Glioblastoma - brain cancer.
This reMARKable man always has been the leader of our family and a source of wisdom, strength and bravery to all of us. It is oddly fitting that he has received this cruel diagnosis with incredible grace and dignity. I've never admitted it publically before, but even prior to his diagnosis, Mark always has been my hero. He has used his talents and gifts to help SO many others, both professionally and personally, and NEVER seeks personal credit or glory.
If Mark has touched your life in some way, please join our team, "The reMARKables" for The Race for Hope 5k in D.C. on Sunday, May 5th. YOU DON"T NEED TO BE A RUNNER to participate! Most of us plan to walk! It is a lovely event. I'm sure it would mean the world to Mark. Aren't available that day? Live out of town? Consider making a donation to our team. In any case, help us spread the word to YOUR contacts, friends and colleagues.
Ironically, I participated in the Race for Hope several years ago to honor my dear friend, Bridget Basehoar's husband, who lost his fight to the same stinking cancer. I never imagined the disease would hit so close to home. Help the reMARKables beat brain cancer by joining in our fight.
