Race for Hope - DC

Mark Johnson Memorial Team

The Race for Hope - DC presented by Cassidy Turley raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and provide information for brain tumor patients and their families. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors. Thank you for your support in helping us find a cure for brain tumors!

May 5th will be the 10 year anniversary of my father's death from Brain Cancer. In honor of him I continue to return to do a 5K in DC for the National Brain Tumor Society. This is the third year of my participation in this event and I cannot express how much everyone's support over the years has meant to me. This is not only in honor of my dad, but of my family and every family that has been affected by this disease. There is not enough knowledge or information out there for the families of patients or even patients with this disease.

My Dad was my hero and for anyone who knew him the best man ever. Please help in any way that you can. I know we're all busy and there are plenty of causes out there to support but this one has an imprint on who I am as a person. Any support is welcome, invite anyone. You can walk or run and if nothing else it will be your workout on a Sunday in May outside in DC!!
