Welcome to CT's Team page!
As most of you know, I was diagnosed with a Grade IV glioblastoma in February 2013. I had surgery to remove the tumor, and six weeks of Radiation with Chemotherapy, then six months of Chemotherapy alone. I finished the treatments November 5, 2013. My most recent MRI, on February 24, showed no regrowth of the tumor. There are two tiny new areas of concern, in different areas of my brain. These will be rechecked when I have my next MRI in May.
Since 1981 I have been known as “CT” at work, so I call my fundraising team CT's Team in the Race for Hope DC. The first year of my battle with brain cancer has been challenging, but I have had a great number of helpers and supporters. My family, friends, coworkers, colleagues, church brothers and sisters, and just about everyone I know, have pitched in to help me with all my needs, and covered me with prayer from around the world.
The Race for Hope is one of the largest financial fundraisers in the country benefitting the brain tumor community. It raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and provide information for brain tumor patients and their families. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors. All proceeds support National Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure.
I thank you in advance for honoring me, and the millions of others who are fighting, or who have lost their battle with brain cancer, by signing up to walk or run with me and/or giving your financial support as I participate in The Race For Hope in DC on May 4th, 2014.
Donating to the team or signing up to join in The Race is easy! Just click on the orange or green boxes to the right and add your name and donation to the list!
Thank you so much and I hope to see you on May 4! Love, Carol
