Ray's Runners

Welcome to our 2017 RAY'S RUNNERS Team Page!

This is our TENTH year participating in the Race for Hope and we have been able to raise almost $90,000.00 dollars since first racing in 2008.

We look forward each May for a chance to remember our dad, husband, brother and friend, Ray Donovan. Ray lost his short but courageous battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) on May 5th 2007. GBM is a devastating brain cancer that typically results in death in the first 15 months after diagnosis. GBM accounts for 52 percent of all primary brain tumors.

We know he would be proud to see us running in support of research in the fight against Brain Cancer.  While he is not with us today, we hope our support and fundraising will lessen the burden faced by patients, family members and friends fighting this difficult disease. While there are many new investigational treatments that show promise in the treatment of GBM; the most effective therapies introduced over the past three decades have improved median survival of GBM patients by an average of only three months. We race to support increasing research for brain tumor treatments and government advocacy to increase funding for this research to take place.

One day, we know there will be a cure!

We welcome everyone to join our team, walk, run, cheer or be a virtual participant.

Thank you for your support now and always.

 -Kathleen, Maureen and Helen
