At Georgetown's Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, the motto is "cura personalis", providing holistic care to individuals affected by brain tumors, including their friends and caregivers. Please take a moment to think about what you can do to support this cause and contribute generously to the Georgetown-Lombardi Team participating in the "Race for Hope - DC". Clink on the orange Donate Button to donate, even if you cannot be there with us on May 7th.
I am excitedly looking forward to the race tomorrow, yet again WE DID IT! Team Georgetown Lombardi has exceeded it's initial fundraising goal of $20,000 and revised goal of $25K touching close $30,000 in 2017. This is our 5th year as a team and the 20th year for Race for Hope DC. Our efforts will help the National Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure fund important research with the goal of finding a cure for brain tumors.
Company Team Georgetown-Lombardi (see at bottom of list of teams) encompasses other teams such as Team Adams (raised closed to $10K), Team Navarra, Sherman's Saints and Team Welsh. Kudos to those teams, fist pump Team Adams' members if you see them at the race; most all on that Team have a strong connection to Georgetown.
Other RFH teams such as Team Extreme, Team Butler, Fitchett's Friends, Everybody Needs Milk, Kristen and Mike's Warriors, Team Lorry, Team Monica, Osnos Tumor Busters, and Papou are all dear to Georgetown although they may not be under our umbrella.
Team Table in Vendor Village: Our team has a table in Vendor Village, and I will be there at 7:30 AM. Our table will have a Navy table cloth with Medstar Georgetown - Lombardi Cancer Center name on it. I heard it will next to the Genentech Table, at one end of the line.
T shirts: We will have T shirts for sale ($15 each); cash or check to my name ok. If you pre-reserved T-shirts, we will hold them for you if we had the right sizes available. Otherwise, first come-first serve basis, I have 17 adult medium shirts and fewer of other sizes including Adult small, Adult large, Youth medium and Youth Small. Hope you did or will do packet pick up on your own. Given our team size, I could not do packet pick up for the entire team.
Team Photo - Team Photo - Team Photo: We will meet at the Team Table in Vendor Village at 8:30 AM for a team photo; if you have or bought a team T shirt, please do wear it for the team photo. Survivors may choose to wear your yellow T shirt. Photo at 8:30 PM sharp to allow timed runners to get to start line before 8:45 AM.
Thanks & Congratulations on all the good work!
