2017 Race for Hope - DC

Team Belknap

This team was created in memory of Richard Larry Belknap, Sr. who passed away on February 3, 2010 from a brain tumor. Rick proudly served in the US Army with a three-year tour of duty in Vietnam.

Moreover, this team was created for soldiers that served during the Vietnam War and who suffer/have suffered/will suffer from a brain tumor, especially a Glioblastoma. Moreover, this team was created for supporting ANYONE that is currently battling a brain tumor; we want to continue that fight against brain tumors.

Rick is now laid to rest at the Arlington National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife who will continue his fight by advocating brain tumor awareness with the National Brain Tumor Society. Rick is also survived by his two sons, two sisters, one brother, his mother, and other family members who will work to support the efforts of brain tumor awareness.

The Race for Hope - DC presented by Cassidy Turley raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and support services for brain tumor patients and their families. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors. Thank you for your support in helping us find a cure for brain tumors!
