To all of my loved ones, family, friends and colleagues,
On May 11, 2017, my 50-year old husband Terry - my heart, my soul, my life - lost his six year battle with brain cancer. Terry said he thought of himself as a 'soldier in battle with cancer'; he fought his battle with courage, good humor and grace. He remained optimistic as he worked his way through different treatments, always hoping something new would be available before he ran out of options.
Terry, my brilliant, brave husband may be gone - but his FIGHT goes on! Every year, nearly 17,000. people die from primary brain cancer. We can help them - YOU can help them - by supporting us in our Race for Hope.
The Race for Hope raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and provide information for brain tumor patients and their families. There are many new treatments and breakthroughs on the horizon, but funding is needed to make those possible. When someone you love is suffering from brain cancer, you always fear that those new treatments and breakthroughs will come too late.
The Race for Hope DC is an annual event on the Washington DC mall; we've participated in the race since Terry's diagnosis. The goal is to raise funds, but the walk/run itself it a huge morale boost to all who participate. We would love for you to join team Terry's Angels!
Please help us in our effort to save those who suffer and are often lost to this horrible disease.
Thank you for your support in helping us find a cure for brain tumors, Lisa
