God fearing, stern, loving, compassionate, understanding, STRONG...those are just a few words to describe my beautiful mother, Sheila D. Smith. On the afternoon of July 5, 2014 she unexpectedly had a seizure and approximately 48 hours later underwent brain surgery to remove majority of a mass that was detected in an x-ray. A few weeks later in August 2015 she was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Astrocytoma grade 4, the deadliest form of brain cancer, and my family's life was changed forever. For 13 months she suffered this grusome terminal illness. While her life changed drastically she accepted it with much grace and never once complained and for that reason, along with many others, she is forever my shero. On Thursday September 3, 2015 she finished her assingment on this side and God saw fit for her to leave this Earth but her legacy will certainly live on forever...
