Christopher M Mastrangelo died in 2007 at the age of 40, seven months after he was diagnosed with a very aggressive gliobastoma. Prior to his diagnosis, he was asymptomatic except for a series of severe headaches a few weeks before his diagnosis. Like so many brain cancer victims, he was afflicted with this dreaded disease in the prime of his life. Prior to his death he committed to the donation of his diseased brain to the NIH in hopes that research efforts might result in cures that would preclude others from enduring the suffering he experienced. He now rests in peace and the Mastrangelo family has since been involved in raising funds for the Race for Hope-DC to support much needed research initiatives.
The Race for Hope - DC presented by Cushman & Wakefield raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and provide information for brain tumor patients and their families. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors. Thank you for your support in helping us find a cure for brain tumors!
