Team Spencer Clyde
Hi Friends, Family, and Colleagues! Thanks for visiting Team Spencer Clyde's page! We're here to raise some money and kick cancer's butt!
Our tagline is Team Spencer Clyde - Kickin' Cancer's Butt Worldwide. So actually, in order for that to be true...we need your help! Sponsoring us while we walk this 5k is one way we can honor Spencer’s memory. For those of you unfamiliar with his story, here's a little background: Spencer Clyde Whitworth was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 2002. Through surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, he fought hard and was cancer free for many years. During that time, he married his wonderful girlfriend Brianne, graduated from UGA, and had two BEAUTIFUL children: Angelina and Xander. After seven years of clear MRI scans, unfortunately his cancer returned and was much more aggressive. Despite a 2nd brain surgery and subsequent treatments, Spencer lost his battle with cancer on July 16th, 2009. He was only 30 years old. And our lives have never been the same without him since.
Our hope in starting a team this year is to help those close to us understand the importance of raising both money and awareness to combat this awful disease. We shudder to think so many families experience what Spencer’s did on a daily basis. It has to stop and no better time to help the cause but now.
Please take a moment to consider donating to this wonderful program. Every little bit helps and of course donations can be made anonymously. Life without Spencer has been void of so many memories that were never made and never will be made and we want to do all we can to keep that from happening to other families. Thank you for any and all help you can give. Even if it's just a simple prayer for the families going through the battle...every small thing helps.
Team Spencer Clyde is ready to go! Let's kick cancer’s butt!
