2018 Race For Hope - DC

CT's Team

Welcome to CT's Team page!

This is the 21st year of the Race for Hope, and my 6th year participating!  Yesterday I sent an email that had some errors in it.  This email will correct the facts about my health.

As most of you know, I was diagnosed with a Grade IV glioblastoma in February 2013.  I had surgery to remove the tumor, and six weeks of Radiation with Chemotherapy, then six months of Chemotherapy alone. I finished the treatments November 5, 2013.  My most recent MRI, in February 2018, unfortunately, showed regrowth of the tumor, and two new tumors, which are deeper in my brain.  The new tumors are too risky to operate on.  I have been started on steroids to reduce the swelling in my brain, seizure medication, and I will be getting two chemotherapy drugs. I am getting an infusion of Avastin every 2 weeks, and a Chemotherapy pill, Temodar, which I took in 2013 as well.  I will be getting an MRI in 3-4 months to check the status of the tumors.

My fundraising team is called CT's Team in the Race for Hope DC.  These five years of living with brain cancer have been challenging, but I have had a great number of helpers and supporters. My family, friends, coworkers, colleagues, church brothers and sisters, and just about everyone I know, have pitched in to help me with all my needs, and covered me with prayer from around the world. My sister, Ann, calls me every night to check in. My dad, Joe Frock, sent me a postcard every day for three years! God has been right beside me, protecting me and helping me.  "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.  When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." Isaiah 43:2

The Race for Hope is one of the largest financial fundraisers in the country benefitting the brain tumor community.  It raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and provide information for brain tumor patients and their families. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors. All proceeds support the National Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure.

I thank you in advance for honoring me, and the millions of others who are fighting, or who have lost their battle with brain cancer, by signing up to walk or run with me and/or giving your financial support as I participate in The Race For Hope in DC on May 6th, 2018.

Donating to the team or signing up to join in The Race is easy!  Just click on the orange or green boxes to the right and add your name and donation to the list!

Thank you so much and I hope to see you on May 6th!

Love, Carol
