Karen's Crew is a team of very special people devoted to supporting the annual Race for Hope in DC and brain cancer research. This is a cause that was intimately important to Karen Rosen. We continue to support the RFH in Karen's memory and in support of others dealing with brain tumors. Karen was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Multiforme (Grade 4) brain tumor in June 2004. During her four-year journey with brain cancer, she had five brain surgeries, radiation treatment, and many different chemotherapy treatments. She was eternally grateful to the tremendously capable and caring medical professionals at Johns Hopkins, Duke and NIH. Karen navigated her brain cancer journey with a level of grace and joy that affected everyone around her. After all, she was the consummate quiet teacher.
Karen passed away in 2008, just prior to the 2008 Race for Hope. She had done so much planning for the big day and was looking forward to participating in the race with her family and friends. We missed her very much, but we did as Karen would have wanted and carried on as a team in the 2008 race and each year since. Our family really appreciates all the support you've continued to provide. We truly hope that you will join our team to walk or run in support of brain cancer research. If you can't join us for the Race on May 5, 2019, please consider a donation to this worthy cause. Let's continue to make this a special event in Karen's memory.
