Welcome to My Personal Page
This is the fifth year that my family and friends will be participating in the Race for Hope in Philadelphia to support the National Brain Tumor Society. I will once again walk to raise awareness and dollars for research for those impacted by brain tumors and as you are aware, my strength, my passion, my commitment and my inspiration comes from my son Bobby. This year, I come with a sense of urgency!
For the last 6 years we have been blessed because Bobby's tumor has been stable; we were so proud as Bobby stood in front of over 2,000 people at the Philadelphia Navel Yard in 2016 as the brain tumor survivor speaker and told his story. During his speech he encouraged all those standing in front of him to continue to fight, and today, Bobby is continuing his fight against his brain tumor - on June 11, he will have his 3rd crainiotomy to remove the changing and growing tumor.
Bobby has defied all the odds; although some said he would never graduate from high school, Bobby graudated on May 19 from Villanova University with a Masters in Mental Health Counseling. He is passionate about his work and strong in his commitment to bring a sense of peace to his clients. Bobby has his own sense of urgency; he wants to limit the amount of time away from his clients whose lives he has changed and impacted. So he will go into this surgery with the same hope and strength that has helped him succeed in life.
Team Hope Brings Strength has raised more than $45,000 over the past four years and although I was not able to cross the finish line the last two years because of injuries, but I will do my best to cross it this year with friends and family joining me in this cause. I will continue to push myself so that all those with this dreadful disease can find hope to fight and to remember those who have lost their battle.
Bobby's tumor still exists and I will NOT rest until I know there is a cure. The National Brain Tumor Society will not rest until a cure exists - but more needs to be done. Please join me as Hope Brings Strength runs the Race for Hope 2017! Thank you for your support!
National Brain Tumor Society is fiercely committed to finding a cure for brain tumors. They are aggressively driving strategic research; advocating for public policies that meet the critical needs of the brain tumor community; and providing comprehensive patient, family and caregiver resources. Your support ensures this important work will continue.
