For the twelfth year, Team MartDogg will honor the memory of Marty Mazanec, who died way too soon, at the age of 19. Although Team MartDogg was founded in memory of Marty and will always be a way to celebrate his life, it has expanded over the years to include other friends and family who have struggled with a brain tumor. We have welcomed other team members who participate in memory of someone that they have also loved and lost. Team MartDogg is an amazing and eclectic group. It includes family -- brother, cousins, aunts and uncles; friends who demonstrate their continuing affection for Marty; friends of friends who joined the team to remember their own loved ones who have died too young as well. We participate because we loved Marty but also because we hope our efforts can make a difference and that a cure will be found so that other young people, as full of promise and potential as Marty, can live the long, full life they deserve. We are there for Marty, but we are also there for Jason Westenberger, for Michael Prendergast, for Sam Macaluso, for Jason McCabe, for Allison Collet, for Glen Gonsalves, for Ellie Renaudo, for John Collins, for Sophie Abbot, for Joey Imparato, for Dean Seramone, for Chuck Connelly, for Clif Wilson, for Rosemary Skarbek, for Liz Gallagher, for Perry Carroscia, for Bruce Bohachek.....Unfortunately, the list of those affected by brain tumors and other terminal illnesses increases each year, but so does our commitment to finding a cure. The Race for Hope is a wonderful celebration for all of us who participate. Not only do we honor the memory of someone we loved deeply, but our participation represents our continuing commitment to finding a cure for brain tumors. Please help us. Make a donation. to Team MartDogg. Thank you for allowing Marty, and many other special people, continue to make a difference in this world.
