Message from Véronique (his wife):

Laurent was a quiet man and full of life, he loved his family, his work and his friends. He loved to travel, learn and share knowledge. His dream was to come and work in the U.S., which he did, we arrived from France, 5 years ago. Unfortunately, a cancerous tumor was discovered in his brain, in March 2009, he underwent surgery, radiations, chemotherapy by pills, then intravenously. But the disease was stronger than him, we fought till the end, we did everything the doctors told us to do. We always thought he was going to recover, but he left us September 13, 2010. He leaves behind two lovely children. So for him and to prevent this tragedy to keep destroying families, we will gather at Laurent's Run, on September 24, 2011, to raise funds and to advance research, as he always did at work.
