About the National Brain Tumor Society:

National Brain Tumor Society is fiercely committed to finding better treatments, and ultimately a cure, for people living with a brain tumor today and anyone who will be diagnosed tomorrow. This means effecting change in the system at all levels.

We have a rigorous and thoughtful agenda, integrating research and public policy to bridge critical gaps. Starting with discovery science, to clinical trial design and the development of new therapies, there are many opportunities to make improvements and speed the momentum of new findings.

It’s time to build on progress and transform tomorrow, today.

A brain tumor is an abnormal mass of tissue in which some cells grow and multiply uncontrollably, apparently unregulated by the mechanisms that control normal cells. Nearly 70,000 people will be diagnosed with a brain tumor this year. The road for those diagnosed and their families is a tough one, full of uncertainty. The National Brain Tumor Society aims to help with research on promising research projects to make breakthroughs towards finding a cure for brain tumors, especially for GBM and pediatric brain tumors. All proceeds raised in the Penny Wars will be donated to The National Brain Tumor Society to help this great cause.

PENNY WAR RULES!
-Each department has 5 gal. jug located in the cafeteria.
-Each penny in the jug counts as 1 point, although each silver coin/ paper money counts as a points against them. (ex. nickel = -5 points, $5 = -500 points!)
-The winning department gets to choose which teacher will be turned into an ice cream sundae at the pep rally!
