About the National Brain Tumor Society:

National Brain Tumor Society is fiercely committed to finding better treatments, and ultimately a cure, for people living with a brain tumor today and anyone who will be diagnosed tomorrow. This means effecting change in the system at all levels.

On November 5, 2014, Robin Muir-Zarro - wife, colleague and dear friend to so very many - ended her courageous three-year battle with "The Beastie." As almost everyone knows, "The Beastie" was Robin's term of choice for the Anaplastic Astrocytoma brain tumor that made not one but two unwelcome appearances between 2011 and 2014.

The past year has been difficult, even though Robin's passing did not come as a surprise. Many had a chance to say good-bye to Robin during visits to the hospice home where she spent the last 35 days of her life - with husband Joe unfailingly by her side. As subsequent months progressed, the sadness that friends once experienced at the mention of Robin's name slowly evolved into bittersweet reflection. We could start to laugh and smile once again at favorite Robin anecdotes and memories. For sure, Robin is still with us.

Come Fly With Us!

To further celebrate Robin's life and the spirit of friendship, the "Robin's Wings" team that took part in last year's Boston Brain Tumor Walk (and raised an incredible $20,880 to benefit the National Brain Tumor Society) will be hosting The Robin's Wings Event, to be held on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2015 at Warehouse Bar & Grille in Boston's Financial District. Proceeds will once again go to the National Brain Tumor Society.

Tickets for the event are now available via Eventbrite, and can be purchased here:

UPDATE! (Sept. 30, 2015): Ticket sales to the event have exceeded $3000.00! Thanks so much to everyone who plans on attending, and to all donors to this Memorial Fund page. With the event just around the corner, we're still selling tickets, and expect to get in additional contributions for the many silent auction items that will be available. Help us get to $10,000!

Eat. Drink. Give!

Time: 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (it's a bye week for the Patriots, but other games will be playing on the many t.v. screens throughout the restaurant).

In addition to food and a cash bar, there will also be a silent auction and chances to go home with some great door prizes.

We've created a Robin's Wings Fundraiser page on Facebook, with additional details on the event, as well as updated lists of auction items:

We encourage those unable to attend to be with us in spirit by donating to this amazing organization in Robin's memory. To do so, please click on the "Make a Donation" button on the right. Of course, if anyone wants to donate in addition to attending the event, this is the place to do so!

We look forward to seeing you on October 4!
