Team Mike Dobler
This is Team Mike Dobler's second year in the Race for Hope. We are running this race in memory of my brother-in-law Mike Dobler. Mike was a Staff Sergeant for the United States Air Force and was diagnosed with a brain tumor in July 2012. He passed away on February 18, 2014 after a two year-long battle with brain cancer. Mike served in the United States Air Force from May 2003 to February 2014, having served tours in Afghanistan, North Korea, Germany and New Mexico. He and my sister Amanda have a 2 year old son Noah.
With cancer, you want to do something but it's hard to know what to do. I wanted to pull together some friends to help run this race in memory of my brother-in-law. If you can't make the race, but would like to show your support through donation, I am asking for a donation of $34 in honor of how old he was when he passed. But also know that no donation is too small (or large)!
The Race for Hope - DC is one way that you can help. If you are donating to this cause for the first time, please know that you are not just donating money to a charity--you will be donating to two wonderful organizations that are trying to find a cure for brain cancer. Please help us raise money so that more research can be done to help find an answer to this awful disease. Anything you can contribute would mean so much to our team and my sister's family.
The Race for Hope - DC presented by Cassidy Turley raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and provide information for brain tumor patients and their families. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors. Thank you for your support in helping us find a cure for brain tumors!
