Heather Nicole Earl
Heather was the epitome of the typical 20 something: free spirit, fun loving, "I can do anything and will"; life is a party and forget the negative nellies. She always wanted to live the best life and be the best friend she could. The room always sparkled when she entered. A room full of strangers always became a room full of friends. Heather, who has 'I WIN' tattooed not just on her wrist, but engraved in her mind and heart, taught many so much about living. She was involved with raising money for Breast Cancer before becoming ill, happily associated with the 'Save the TA TAs' campaign.
Heather was a friend to all of us and was taken too soon. We will always miss her and do this walk in her honor, as well as remembering too many others who are fighting this monster.
Shane was a co-worker who came to DC on temporary duty. During his time here he collapsed at work and ultimately got the news that he had GBM stage 4. Shane fought hard, looked under every trial and alternative. He leaves behind his beloved wife and their five children. He lost his battle on April 10, 2014.
We are also CELEBRATING the successful removal of a FORTH brain tumor from our dear friend FLO. She is safely home recovering, yet again. Hopefully she'll be able to join us next year!
The Race for Hope--DC presented by Cassidy Turley raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and provide information for brain tumor patients and their families. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors. Thank you for your support in helping us find a cure for brain tumors!
