Team GDM GBMs! was created in support of Linda Rollins who bravely fought a brain tumor for 19 months. She passed away on October 27, 2013, and we're registering our team on February 12, 2014 - what would have been her 60th birthday. GBM stands for "Glioblastoma Multiforme," and suffice to say, it's not a very nice tumor. I hope it's self-evident what the GDM stands for!
The Race for Hope - DC raises money to support innovative research initiatives and provide information for brain tumor patients and their families. Mom benefited so much from cutting edge research and technology, we feel an obligation to support further study and development. So to do our part for brain tumor research, we're going to do what my mom did best - we're going to walk (and maybe wear a yellow walkman).
Please join the team and come out for a nice walk/run in the DC spring - it's sure to be great fun! If you're not able to join us, please consider making a donation in memory of my mom and in support of the many others fighting the good fight. Thank you for your support in helping us find a cure for brain tumors!
