It's the 7th Anniversary for Team Bennett at the Race for Hope - DC!
We're running for Bennett, who is a survivor of Medulloblastoma - the most common form of malignant brain tumor in children. He was diagnosed in January of 2008 and received nearly a year's worth of treatment including chemotherapy and radiation. Like all parents in our situation, we couldn't believe this was happening to our little boy and spent most of 2008 in a constant state of fear, praying for Bennett's recovery.
Thanks to Bennett's amazing care teams at Children's National Medical Center and Fairfax INOVA Hospital, today he is a happy and healthy boy who loves eating pancakes and playing golf in our playroom. After nearly six years of negative MRI's since his last treatment in October 2008, we have the highest hopes for the future.
We ran our first Race for Hope while Bennett was still receiving therapy and having a very difficult time. This year, he will cross the finish line with us. We hope to see you on the mall for the race!
